Sight Words Sorting Board Game
The Sight Words Sorting Board Game is a fun yet highly educational tool designed to help supercharge you child's reading by introducing, practicing and mastering 400 high frequency words.
What are Sight Words?
Sight words are important in the development of young learners. They are words that don't follow the rules of spelling or the six syllable types. These words have to be memorized because decoding them is really difficult. Students are taught to memorize sight words as a whole, by sight, so that they can recognize them immediately (within three seconds) and read them without having to use decoding skills.
Our product contains 400 of the most commonly used sight words, including those from Dolch's and Fry's sight word lists, in addition to 400 key nouns for early learners. Each key noun is also accompanied with a picture to help with vocabulary retention allow the student to visually engage with the product. The educational goal is for the learner to read, understand, spell and master the usage of these words.
Playing the Board Game
This main challenge of the game is to collect as many cards as possible. The learner can collect cards by completing a card challenge. This card collecting challenge can be set to the appropriate difficulty and adapted to ensure repeatable play. The second phase of the game is the sorting. The Learner takes the cards they collected and sorts them on the board by matching the key words to their topic and category.

The Cards
