Like Uno for Vowel Sounds

This game is perfect for working on decoding skills. I work in an elementary school and was hoping to use this game with some of my students. I played this game with my 5 year old daughter, and it is great for K/1st grade reading level. There is a CVC word level and a digraph level that’s a little tougher. You shuffle whichever pile you want to use, and deal out 5 to each player. You take turns playing a card with either the same beginning sound or middle sound (similar to how you can play either a color or number on Uno). There are “function cards” which are basically wild—you lay down one of those and then lay down whichever sound you want to change it to. The person who runs out of cards first wins.

Fun educational game

My six year normally dislikes "learning activities" as he looses interest quickly. However, Iwin Phonic games do seem to capture his attention, specially when the whole family plays. The game is similar to playing crazy 8 which is a game that my son is already familiar with. This game helps teach him or helps review phonics with him as he plays and has fun with the family. The game is engaging, the cards are sturdy and well made and the graphics and colors are cute and appropriate. The different color cards, the pictures, the different color phonics are great cues for a child to learn.

Perfect for Beginner readers

Perfect for new readers and learning reading code!
This game is perfect for new readers learning to decode words! It includes two stacks of cards, one with beginner sounds such as the short A (hat), short o (hot), short E (wet) and short I (sit) while the advanced sounds cover long A (rain, pay, made), long U (cube, blew, juice), long E (beach, bee, money) and long O (boat, bow, toe). It’s a quick fun and fun educational game to play. Kids don’t even realize they’re learning. Perfect for in the classroom, homeschoolers and those looking for extra reinforcement.

Very fun way of learning

The 2nd grade students had a lot of fun. It was slow at first while learning the rules but once the students got the hang of it, they didn't want to stop. Great for teaching different vowel sound. Lots of opportunities for reteaching and mastering those reading skills. The cards have a nice feel and are bright and cheery. This is a good game for small group activities and family fun. The more I play the game the more I appreciate the detail that has gone into creating the game.

Innovative New Game

I ordered this game for my 5-year-old son who has Apraxia and is developmentally delayed due to speech delay. He struggles with ending word sounds as well as consonant sounds, so this game is a perfect, fun, engaging way to help build better language skills.
